One of the main reasons I want to be a school parent governor is to be involved in the success of the school, and help improve areas that need it. My son started EYFS at St Catherine’s in 2022, and had a great foundation for moving into year 1 in September 2023.He really gained a lot of confidence and has an amazing group of friends, and I would like to see this continue as he moves through his school years at St Catherine’s.
I am a Critical Situation Manager for a global IT Storage/Cloud company, and in my role, I deal with people globally from different cultures and backgrounds, assisting in resolution of complex issues. I feel this would assist my role as a parent governor in both the capacity to assist the governing board, as well as understanding the views of both parents and the local community.
For the past 3 years my role has been home based, and I am lucky to have a very flexible employer which has allowed me to spend a lot of time with my son during his early year’s development, as well as being able to offer assistance for school trips, church visits and of course the PTA.
