I started at St Catherine’s in 2017 as a 1:1 support for a child in year 2, who had delayed speech and language. The following year I worked closely with a child with Down syndrome, which I found hugely rewarding. I have a degree in Early Childhood Educational Studies, this allows me to teach Reception, which is a role I took up in September 2019. In September 2020 I became the Deputy SENCo. I have worked with children in a range of different settings, including nurseries, nannying and schools. Through these varied roles, I have accumulated a lot of knowledge and experience with children with additional needs, and I find working with them really rewarding. I am extremely passionate that children with SEND succeed to their full potential. In my spare time I am involved in the scouting movement, both with young people and training leaders. I also enjoy open water swimming, my allotment and spending time with my wife.
